A Lifetime of Arts and Crafts

Hey there! Welcome to Corvus CraftWorks.

I’m the maker, farmer, and creative chaos coordinator behind everything you see here, Darrah Ros (sounds like “Sarah” but with a “D”, kudos if you got it right the first try!).

My home base is a cozy workshop tucked inside a barn on a working lavender and blueberry farm. If I am not out in the fields growing veggies and flowers or helping tend to our acre of lavender and three acres of blueberries, you can usually find me covered in sawdust inside the barn working on my newest idea.

Jack of All Crafts, Master of My Favorites

I’ve never been great at sticking to just one hobby. If a craft catches my eye, I’m going to try it. I blame my grandmother. I fondly remember her dedicated craftroom which was filled from floor to ceiling with all sorts of materials and supplies. Corvus CraftWorks is basically a collection of all the things I love to make, driven by a healthy dose of curiosity and a desire to make functional art you can hold in your hands.

Nowadays I spend most of my time doing:

  • Woodworking: I picked up woodworking in 2023. Although I’ve dabbled in outdoor furniture, my passion is just cool, unique things that are fun to make and great to use.

  • Pyrography (Woodburning): My oldest passion, I’ve been playing with hot irons and making woodburning art since 2011. This one I can blame directly on my grandma as she bought me my first woodburning tool way back in 2003. I love adding wood stains and mixed media elements to my pieces, my favorite designs to use come from Alphonse Mucha and art nouveau.

  • Crochet: When I need a break from the power tools and stifling heat of the barn, I pick up a hook and some yarn to make some cozy, often weird, things. You can thank the 2020 covid quarantines for this one.

If I’m not doing those three, you can find me doing anything from baking bread and desserts, to painting and drawing, to crossbreeding tomatoes, to resin work, to making little gadgets for D&D games, and anything else that I’ve currently gotten hyperfixated on!

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet and supporting a small, local maker!
